I will teach you how to draw spacecraft, paint an exciting science fiction scene, or paint an extrasolar planet against a nebula. Let’s explore space through art.
About the Academy
My focus is Space Art related, meaning Astronomy, Space Travel, Science Fiction, Fantasy, as well as everyday reality here on Earth. The principles remain the same. I will share with you everything I know, from one human creator to another, and together we will explore spaces both real and imagined.
Each course is presented in a series of video chapters dedicated to a specific aspect of the class. I will be available to help you work through these courses along the way.

How To Draw Starships 101
This class is about drawing starships. Vast space cruisers or personal conveyors to the stars, Starships are the Argos of modern mythology. They are characters themselves, and the milieu for stories. In this class I will take you through the basics of drawing, principles which you can use on any kind of drawing hereafter. I will show you how to design your own starship, drawing it in any angle. We will work from rough sketches that capture emotion and energy, up to precision drawings suitable for illustration and painting. All of this and more.

Color And Light 101
An exploration in color theory, and how to properly mix your color palette for painting. I will share my strategy for managing my colors, as you often see on my livestreams. I will try to unpack color theory so you can have fun with your own paintings. Additionally, I will discuss various paint mediums: Oils, Acrylics, Casein, Gouache, and Watercolor. I’ve loved learning about color as an artist. It’s a lifelong learning process.

Planets, Stars, Nebulae, Black Holes, Asteroids, all of the wonders of space come together in this course. Each chapter will focus on a different aspect of Space Art. With the skills you learn here you will be able to paint fantastic scenes, science fiction scenes, or anything you can imagine.
